Biography
James Lein obtained his docotrate from Kent State University and is currently Professor of Geography at Ohio University. His research focuses on applied geomatics with a concentration in remote sensing, environmental monitoring and land resource analysis. Lein has published numerous research papers and several books including Environmental Sensing: Analytic Techniques for Earth Observation (2012) and Futures Research and Environmental Sustainability: Theory and Method (2016).
Research Interest
His research interests are focused on monitoring of land-use/land-cover change, the integration of remote sensing and GIS in natural hazard risk assessment, and the incorporation of artificial intelligence methods in environmental decision making. He has been an active member of the EGLR Membership Committee.
